HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Ahhh...Mother's (just like every other) Day! I'm kidding...sort of. Of course, we still cook, still clean, still wipe butts. It is in our nature and we'd feel guilty not to. I would, anyway. I have a great post planned for tomorrow. It is a late Mother's Day tribute to all of the mother's who, like me, know that Mother's Day never turns out according to plan (or fantasy,) but is still a wonderful day!

We took my mom out for sushi on Friday, to celebrate a little early. It was so much fun! My sisters and I are so unique, but we all have good conversations when we get together. Some how we got on the subject of husbands. My mom said, "It is better to beg for forgiveness than ask a husband for permission." We all laughed, except for Janice, who is the most conservative of all of us. She retorted, "Well, I don't agree with that. I'd rather keep my husband happy." I really wanted to say, "Yup...that's what sex is for! It is the ultimate way to get back in a husband's good graces." But I knew that she wouldn't see the humor in that. My mom, youngest sister and I all share the same twisted sense of humor, but Janice, although very fun loving and sweet natured, did not inherit the Bernard sarcasm/crudeness/smart assedness. So she takes everything very literally. Which is probably why she doesn't read this blog! No matter what our differences, I enjoyed our time together, immensely. Thanks, girls, for the fun night out!

Check back tomorrow for the new post and in the meantime...Have the best Mother's Day ever (even if you do have to wipe butts!)
