Incidental Accidents

Sometimes I wonder if my husband does things on purpose and acts like they are total accidents. I think that is where the kids got it from. Like "Ooooops! I bought this television set, but it is High Definition and we don't have HD capabilities!" He set up our new television set, turned it on and the picture looked horrible. "What is wrong with this thing?" I couldn't believe how crappy the picture was. Daniel nonchalantly replied, "Oh, that must be because it is an HD TV. I guess we are going to have to get high definition service." Why? So when the kids break this new set in a few months, we will have to buy another set and it will be "Super High Def," which will be a totally different and more expensive service? No thanks. I'll just deal with the crappy picture and be thankful that it doesn't have lines like the old set.

Oh, and I forgot to mention to him that after he set up the television and left, the boys jumped on Reed's bed and broke it. They came running out of the room yelling, "Mom, we accidentally broke Reed's bed. We were just jumping on it very lightly and the cheap thing broke!" Wow. What a cheap 250 dollar piece of monkey dookie! The fact that it wasn't made to be jumped on by two sixty pound boys has nothing to do with it's ruin, what so ever. Then Aiden ripped a big hole in the couch cushion. "Mooooooommmmmyyyy! I was putting my foot on the couch and it wipped a big hole! I'm wiwwy sowwy." Sure...he was putting his foot on the couch, as he was climbing up the back in football cleats! I shit you not, this all happened last night. I have to think of a way to break the news to Daniel by the time he gets home from football practice, this morning. Maybe I can make it sound like an accident, like the rest of them do so well. something along the lines of, "Ooooops. We had these children and they are all destructive little beasts. Guess we really screwed the pooch on that one! Hee hee."
