We all know that a portrait of a mother's "day in the life," would look nothing like it does on "Mother's Day." Since I paint you all portraits of my normal days, I thought it quite appropriate to show you how truly wonderful my husband and children are to me (if only one day out of the year!) I put together a little photo journal of my day, with the help of my dear husband (who was forced into playing photographer.) Of course, holidays never go off without at least one hitch. We had a few minor ones, but all in all, it was a very enjoyable day.

I worked hard on this card for my Aunt. It was supposed to be a sweet tribute to her. Then Trenton decided to be a smart ass and draw a mustache on the picture (as seen above.) So I had to change the quote on the front of the card to read: "Only a mother knows that her labors of love will always bear the mark of the one child who loves to pull pranks" (Kadi Prescott) This is how my day started. Don't worry, it gets a lot better...
The kids made me some very sweet cards, that I hung on our bulletin board. Like my bedhead?

Then I got showered with slobbery kisses and bear hugs, my favorite!!!

And then more kisses and hugs!

I did a little cooking, so I wouldn't feel totally out of my element. But the result was not ideal, as I forgot about the casserole. But I have a good reason....

I got to take a shower...in the morning...and shave!!! Then, when I got out, there were flowers waiting for me! I know, I'm spoiled.
The women in our families, always exchange tokens of our of love. Being that there are 11 sister in laws, the tokens are small, but much appreciated! I did these little gifts of scented lotion with homemade tags.

Here we are at the Prescott home (Daniel's parents.) Chrystal and I enjoy mimosas. I know I was not going to drink, but what is a brunch without a mimosa? My grandma and Aunt Pyll joined the festivities (bottom). I'm so proud of my grandma. She is really handling grandpa's absence well, even though yesterday must have been hard. He always spoiled her, especially on Mother's Day.

Isn't my sister in law gorgeous? She just graduated nursing school and is expecting her second baby. She's a really ambitious mommy, who does a great job of creating balance in her life! The picture on the bottom, is Grandma P. (Daniel's Grandma) and I. She is my favorite Prescott. We are pen pals, but she cannot write anymore, so I just write to her.
Daniel and Jeff took KP and enlisted all of the men to clean up after the women. Those Prescott men are keepers!

We all enjoy the warm weather out on the patio. The pic on the left, is my sister in law Jen. The pic on the bottom, is of me, my mom, grandma, aunt and Daniel's mom's arm.

Daniel sent his mama flowers this year! This is a first for him. Usually I do all of the shopping and gift giving. I'm really impressed by his thoughtfulness. He is learning! Below, is a pic of some of the family listening to Grandpa Itzaina's love letters to Grandma Itzaina. Patrick did the honors of reading them. It was really neat to hear the courtship of the great grandparents, via love letters (circa 1933).

Teri and Jessica head for home. These two are a great example of the friendship that blossoms when a mother and daughter have tremendous love and respect for each other. I hope that my daughters feel this way about me, when they grow up.
The picture on the bottom, is of Daniel's mom saying goodbye to my grandma and aunt. She is the hostess with the mostess, as she always makes sure to greet and send off each guest (all 60 of them.)

The kids always have a good time at Grandma Jackie and Grandpa Don's house! The only injury suffered was Reed's fall into the rose bushes (bottom.) Ouch!!

Our ride home was pleasant, as most of the kids were worn out and slept the whole way. Ahhhh...silence (the best gift of all!)

My spoiling did not end when we got home. Daniel Jr. gave me a head massage, while Daniel Sr. cleaned up our morning mess.
After a long and blissful Mother's Day, I was pooped.
I am a blessed mother!
