We went grocery shopping last night. By "we" I mean everyone. Daniel and I split up the list and had a race. I lost because I always see other stuff that we need and he only gets what is on the list. My cart was $268 and his was $120. But I had all of the yummy snacks, so all of the kids wanted to be on my team!
This story does have a point, but that wasn't it. So my team was in the meat section, looking for chuck roast. I spied a beef tongue and decided to gross Trenton out by chasing him around with it. It didn't work because he refused to believe that it was really a cow's tongue. After much explaining, he was finally convinced. He was amazed that many of the items that we consume, are alive at one point.
My little lesson in biology back fired about sixty seconds later. As we left the meat section, Trenton grabbed a box of snacks out of the cart and threw it across the aisle. "Why did you do that?!" I demanded of him, feeling every one's eyes on us. He looked at me in horror and yelled, "Mom, there is no way I'm going to eat those disgusting things! Corn Nuts? I didn't even know that corn had nuts!!"
I will be shopping alone from now on.
