Who Are You?

Daniel teases me frequently, about the fact that I am a social online butterfly. He teases that I have no idea who all of my bloggy friends really are, and that for all I know, they could be a bunch of crazies. I told him that they have to be a little crazy to enjoy this blog. Anyway, I thought that maybe you should all answer a few questions in order to prove to Daniel that you are just normal people... or not. Here is a list of personal questions. Feel free to answer them in the comments section. In fairness, I will also answer them, even though this blog pretty much tells it all, when it comes to my life:

1. Favorite song and why:
Dancing In The Moonlight (Van Morrison) It reminds me of dancing in the kitchen with my daddy, as a little girl.

2. What do you think of society?
I am saddened by the increasing acts of violence and # of sickos in the world. I am scared for my children and their future.

3. Saddest memory:
It is a tie:
My grandpa's passing and having to tell my dad that he needed to move out, because my mom was not allowed to.

4. Happiest memory:
The days that the kids were born.

5. Odd fact that few people know about you:
I have a birth mark on my head that is raised and really ugly looking. I feel self conscious whenever I go to have my hair done because I'm afraid that the hair dresser will get all creeped out by it.

Now it is your turn! You can just number your answers to correspond to the questions above. If you choose not to answer, it is okay. I'll just take it as a sign that you really are a mentally unstable person who has too much to hide. I'm kidding! ....(sort of.)

Favorite song -- OMG! I love Moon Dance by Van Morrison. Years ago I worked at an outdoor cafe on Venice Beach and some dude would come to the boardwalk every Sunday and play that song.

Society? Well today I just saw my first You Tube video of an elephant in Thailand painting. Since they are cutting back on the logging there, this is the retraining program (for the elephants). The paintings are sold for $600! And they're good!

Basically, on this day, society seems amazing.

1. Favorite song:
American Pie by Don Mclean. It tells such a story, there is a lot of depth to it.

2. Think of Society:
It depends on the day. Somedays, I get so disgusted, but then a person says or does something that amazes me. It just motivates me to raise my kids to make a difference.

3. Saddest Memory:
The death of my sister.

4. Happiest:
My Wedding, the birth of my kids, and the first day every year that the warm sun shines on my face and I can't believe how good God is.

5. Odd Fact:
I eat Cheetos with a fork. I cannot eat them with my fingers.

OK, maybe I am a nutjob...

4. Happiest memory:
The day my son was born!

5. Odd fact that few people know about you:
Hmm. I have weird OCD like my house could be a disaster but if my bed is a mess I lose it. The bed has to have the covers just right. I will even wake my husband up to fix them. I am CWAZY!

2)society is on the brink. it's not beyond the brink...yet.

3)saddest memory...tough one. i have a few. there was my 18 month old cousin who was run over by her mom in her van accidentally (always know where your kids are everyone!) there was telling my friends i had to move because my parents were divorcing, and there was telling my dad i was pregnant...at 17...by a guy i knew for 6 months. take your pic, they all sucked!
4) when my kids were born (i only have 5).
5) when i was a kid, i thought that babies came out of your butt. when i say kid, i mean like the age of 10. can you tell my parents never talked to me about sex?

1. Favorite song and why:
Anything off of the Private Dancer album, Tina Turner. My mom got me hooked on Tina at a very young age.

2. What do you think of society?
It makes me sick. My son isn't even safe at the library and at age five I had to have a goodtouch/bad touch talk with him. My parents never had to do that with me.

4. Happiest memory:
The boys being born and the day I married their daddy.

1. Favorite song....hmmmm...this changes fairly frequently depending on my mood but for right now I like "Push" by Sarah Maclaughlin and "Underneath your clothes" by Shakira, they make me think of my husband.

2. Society, well, I think parents for years have been saying that's it's scary but it's just because we know that we can't protect our children from ever getting hurt and all things look big and scary when you think about thier innocence, that being said, yeah scared shitless here!

3. Saddest memory, Attending my 29 year old cousin's funeral, she was like a big sister to me, while her 8 year old daughter was in the hospital with 3rd degree burns from the same fire that killed her mother and being unable to even approach her 6 year old son because her estranged husband refused to allow anyone in my family access to him.

4. Happiest memory...well, my wedding (I bawled) and the birth of my (2) children (I bawled both times) but I think one of the most comforting was when I was crying over my cousin's death and my two year old came up to me and asked me what was wrong then gave me a hug and a kiss and told me he loved me. (kinda bittersweet but the display of pure love was just what I needed at the time)

5. Weird thing about me that not a lot of people know...huh...this one is really hard because I'm pretty open about most things...I've given my mother a really ominous distinctive ring even though she's only called me about 4 times since I moved out about 8 years ago just so I can avoid her call if I don't feel up to it. (not the best of relations)

Any Jimmy Eat World song. The songs convey such meaning, emotion, feeling and they express the things that are my inner most feelings, but that I can never communicate myself.

2. What do you think of society?
I wish that everyone would follow the principles and words in the Holy Bible. If we were all truly Christians and lovers of God and his word, this world would be a very peaceful place. I feel that people in general are unhappy and after the wrong things in life.

4. Happiest memory:

Been quite a few. i guess when my last husband committed suicide.

4. Happiest memory:
The days that the kids were born.

3) When my best friend Dana passed from brain cancer

5) That I love old shows like the sound of music, fiddler on the roof, etc.

Favorite song? I don't think I have a favorite. I like most music except heavy metal and rap.
Of society? I have hope because the good in most people, but those few sicko pervs out there are hard not to obsess over and be worried about.
Saddest memory? The thing that I think of is when I heard that my friends mom (who was also a close family friend for years) passed away suddenly. She was so young.
Happiest memory? When my kids were born. Each time is so special.
Odd fact? When I'm hot my face sweats. Not my pits. I know weird. I wish my pits would sweat like everyone else because then I could use deoderant to solve the problem. They don't make deoderant for faces.

I normally just come to read... but I thought that this might be a good time to jump in. I don't know if this will help your cause...

favorite song: changes often, but right now would probably be "Bring the Rain" by Mercy Me. Not because I want the rain... but it is here anyway, and I need the reminder it is for His glory.

Society: A bit scary, but we are all looking for the same things, peace, love, and someone to save us... the only thing is that some of us know where to find it and others don't. We need to share.

Saddest memory: probably losing my first baby that I wanted so desperately.

Happiest memory: okay... I will have to go with the birth of my babies, and the day that my husband got saved. Long awaited.

Odd fact:My little toe on both feet are on sideways... the toenail points out. Sadly... I gave these wonder to all three of my children

Extra: I long to find the humor in my crazy life like you do. Most of the time I miss it. I often come to your blog to have a belly jiggling laugh.

1. Favorite song and why:
I love so many songs it is difficult for me to pick just one.

2. What do you think of society?
I believe that in the would of excessive celebrity following, Reality TV and the increased need for more more more, people have turned into nosey rude ass weirdoes! not to mention the internet that is feeding all the pervs out there. We have allowed children to grow up before they are ready giving them cell phones in grade school, allowing them to dress like hookers at 10 but somehow taking away all the realness is sports by not keeping score so no one feels like a loser!
Things need to change! I am scared what the youngsters will bring, I am afraid we will have cowards and people will walk all over this country. Other than that I don't care what everyone else is doing, I am not a follower therefore I do not give in to society's game. We make our own lives and if you believe all the bad that everyone tells you of course it will happen.

3. Saddest memory:
Having to tell my best friends their dad died while we were away at college. I knew what the outcome was going to be before I told them, I had to stay strong for them and I am glad I was there for them.

1. Favorite song and why: I'm a sucker for slow songs with piano or an orchestra, and my favorite changes constantly. It's usually whatever song I'm addicted to at that moment. Right now it's almost anything by Sia. But if I had to pick an all time favorite it would be "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. It's a classic and it always makes me think of my dad, cause I grew up listening to it with him.

2. What do you think of society?
I was actually just thinking about this on my way into work this morning, about how much hate there is in the world. I fear for the future.

3. Saddest memory: A year ago when my dad went into intensive care with pancreatitis and they didn't think he was going to survive. (He did make it through and is doing fine now.)
